New Features April 2017

Posted 04/12/17 by James and filed under:

We’ve been busy over the past few months.

Below is a quick summary of some of the new features we have released recently.

Today View

Actions that are Due today or schedule items that are due today now show up automatically in a new view called the “Today” view. The Today view is accessed from the left panel and is great as a central spot to see items that have come due and items that are scheduled to start today.  Additionally, you can drag any item to the Today view and create an agenda of tasks you plan to work today.

At the end of the day, any incomplete tasks will move to the “Past Actions” section of the page.  You can easily drag those items back up to the Today section of the view if you decide you want to tackle it the next day.

Mobile Web APP Now Available

Posted 08/19/15 by James and filed under:

GTDNext is now available on your smart phone and tablet.  Simply point your mobile browser to and click login.  Now you can start getting things done on the go!

With the mobile web version you have full access to your Projects and Actions list, your Next list and all your other lists as well.

In addition you can filter your list and add items to the inbox.  On the road?  Filter your Next list by “errands” to quickly remember things to do while you are out.

In the future we will add the ability to increase font sizes and indent/outdent items in the Project and Actions view. All these enhancements have been made possible by updating our web app to use a responsive design.  Give it a try now!  (please make sure you have “Private” turned off on you mobile browser – we don’t support that mode)

Someday List Feature Change

Posted 07/13/15 by James and filed under:

Recently I noticed a problem. I had more projects on my active list than I could possible tackle. My weekly reviews were taking too long because I was reviewing each and every project for next actions and was actually beating myself up a bit because I was constantly not making progress on many of the items.

Per GTD I should have moved any project I wasn’t actively working on to my “someday” list, but hadn’t taken the time to do it and I was experiencing the negative side effects of having too much on my list.  I was stressed!

9 Ways to Use the Send Tasks from Multiple Email Accounts Feature

Posted 05/02/15 by James and filed under:

Today GTDNext rolls out the ability to send tasks to GTDNext from any email account. This has been a top request for a while now and we are happy to now provide this feature.  Here is how it works.

A unique email address is created for each GTDNext user and all emails sent to that address will create a task in your inbox. The subject line will be the task name and body text in the email will go into the task notes. Any email account can send to this address and the task will be created and land in your GTDNext inbox.

To access this new feature go to the settings page via the “cog” menu on the top right of your GTDNext screen and click “create email” to make your own unique GTDNext email alias.

new feature send email from multiple accounts

In the past GTDNext users were limited to sending tasks via email to GTDNext from the email account used during sign-up. This limitation made it difficult to send tasks from other accounts, say from your work email, or your home email depending on which you used to sign-up for GTDNext.

Updates to GTDNext Drag and Drop feature

Posted 12/19/14 by James and filed under:

Today we released an update to the drag and drop feature within GTDNext.  In version we have moved the drag icon from the right side of the screen to the left, where we now utilize the icons for each item.

We find it more intuitive to drag items from the left side than the right.

Additionally, the code for drag and drop has been completely re-written to make the experience smoother and much less prone to error.  Dragging is much more reliable now, easier and faster to use.  The below video demonstrated how it now functions.
