Today (July 14th, 2015) build 6.23 released with the ability to apply text formatting to project and task notes!

As seen in the below screen shot this new ability allows users to take better notes that are easy to read.

This feature is available for basic and premium subscribers and can be accessed now.  Give it a try!  Read on for more information.

Here are a few of the things you can do with this new feature.

  • Larger Fonts
  • Bullet Lists
  • Numbered Lists
  • Bold Text
  • Underline Text
  • Italic Text
  • Links to Websites
  • Full Screen Text editing
  • Undo note editing
  • Clear formatting
  • Show HTML formatting

To use the new feature just open up the edit panel in the center (Shift + ENTER) or open up the Edit panel (TAB+P) and start typing.  In the center panel you will highlight your text to apply formatting.  In the right panel you can apply formatting using the toolbar.

There are many shortcut keys available as well.  Click here to see a list of shortcut keys available

Sending Emails to GTDNext.  When you send an email to GTDNext it is currently converted to plain text before it is displayed in your notes.  In the near future we will modify this function to allow full text imports so that all your emails will display beautifully in GTDNext as well.

Let us know what you think of this new feature and how you plan to utilize it.

Here are a few ideas:

  • Meeting Notes – Plain text works for meeting notes, but having bullets and other formatting available makes the experience much better.
  • Detailed Instructions –  Step by step instructions on how to complete tasks (great for recurring tasks!)
  • Call Logs – Keep detailed notes on phone conversations
  • Web Copy – Copy and paste research information from websites you visit
